NEW CD’s ADDED FREQUENTLY Because of my wide range of musical interests, there is no telling what will join the existing offering. I have an extensive group of finished songs waiting to be compiled into CD’s. There are also many musical ideas that are works in progress. Some of them have made it to tape or MIDI. Some are waiting for lyrics. Some are waiting to be fleshed out. Others are just riffs, hooks, beats, bass-lines waiting for the right time to develop.

This site and the music on it are founded on the motto: Erudire, Ponderare, Oblectare - to educate, to cause to ponder, and to entertain. The major goal is to entertain you. If you listen to the music, you will be entertained. Anything else you pick up from the site or songs will be a bonus. The music is designed to have a variety of sounds, themes, rhythms and styles to appeal to a wide range of audiences, varied but coherent.
Both the music and lyrics were composed to cause the listener to ponder why the composer made certain decisions. Each of the elements of music is presented for your consideration. Why were certain instruments chosen? What is the point of view of the singer? Do the lyrics tell a story, present a conflict or just represent nonsense?
You might just learn something from all of this, (3 strange sounding Latin infinitives from the motto for instance). A great many listeners learn to play songs by listening to them. They figure out the chord sequences, the melodies and the solos. The songs are composed to give a variety chord sequences, chord types, fluid melodies, strong bass-lines and diverse drum patterns. Likewise, the lyrics (or the text on the web site) may present you with words that you can learn from context or may send you to the dictionary to satisfy your curiosity. Some of the songs may present ideas or allusions where you may have to do a little research if you want to understand the song.
